  • At least 3 years of experience working with the specified equipment.
  • Strong knowledge of marine engineering principles.
  • Ability to manage a team effectively.
  • Must be computer literate in Microsoft Office and shipboard monitoring and maintenance software.
  • Demonstrate appropriate management and administrative skills.
  • Logically and independently plan, organize, and complete work assignments.
  • Ability to use independent judgment and discretion to develop and execute innovative solutions to engineering problems.
  • Possess a thorough understanding of all pertinent regulations and laws.
  • Possess excellent analytical, problem-solving, critical thinking and decision-making skills.
  • Successfully submit and complete pre-employment background check.
  • Submit to and pass alcohol and drug tests as mandated by the USCG, including pre-employment, random, and post-accident testing.

Job Overview

We are seeking a Licensed Chief Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our crew, you will contribute to the success of our tuna fishing operations.

Fishing Location: Pacific Ocean

Responsibilities

  • Lead the engineering team in maintaining and operating vessel machinery.
  • Oversee maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of Asakasa engines, Yanmar equipment, Falk gearboxes, Marco hydraulics, screw-type compressors, and -60c brine freezing systems.
  • Ensure compliance with safety protocols and maritime regulations.
  • Collaborate with other officers to optimize vessel performance
