Essential Requirements:

  • Valid AB (Able Seaman) Certification
  • Proven experience operating Marine Hiab cranes in a maritime environment
  • Full set of valid STCW Basic Safety Training Certificates (all 5 modules):
    • Personal Survival Techniques
    • Fire Prevention and Fire Fighting
    • Elementary First Aid
    • Personal Safety and Social Responsibilities
    • Security Awareness / Designated Security Duties
  • Valid ENG1 or equivalent Seafarer Medical Certificate
  • Right to work in the United States (citizen, permanent resident, or valid work visa)
  • Minimum 2 years' experience on offshore vessels, ideally with dive support or cable operations

Desirable:

  • Experience working on Dive Support Vessels (DSVs) or vessels supporting cable landing projects
  • Familiarity with dynamic positioning (DP) operations
  • Safety and risk assessment training (e.g., BOSIET/FOET, HUET)
  • Good communication and teamwork skills

AB/Deckhand (Marine Hiab Operator) – Dive Support Vessel

Location:

Offshore – Cable Landing Project, Virginia, USA

Employment Type:

Contract (Project-Based)
Rotation: 4 weeks on/4 weeks off

We are seeking a qualified and experienced AB/Deckhand with proven Marine Hiab crane operating experience to join the crew of a Dive Support Vessel (DSV) engaged in a subsea Cable Landing Project off the coast of Virginia, USA. This is a critical role supporting offshore cable operations, dive support activities, and deck management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate and maintain Marine Hiab crane systems in accordance with operational and safety standards.
  • Assist with the deployment and recovery of diving equipment and subsea tools.
  • Conduct routine deck duties including mooring, anchoring, line handling, and general seamanship.
  • Ensure all cargo and equipment are safely stowed, lifted, and secured as per lifting plans.
  • Carry out watchkeeping duties as assigned by the Officer of the Watch.
  • Perform regular maintenance and cleaning of deck equipment and surfaces.
  • Support the Dive Team and ROV operations as directed.
  • Maintain a high level of safety awareness and compliance with all HSE and company procedures.
  • Report to the Mate and collaborate closely with deck and dive personnel.
