Objective


A well trained and experienced maritime professional with 24 years of unblemished service and demonstrated abilities in all phases of commercial maritime operations and management on numerous vessel types operating in waters around the globe. Presently at my mid career point, I am seeking a position which will utilize the skills and knowledge I have acquired with a company which hopefully will provide long term opportunities for professional growth.


Experience


Experienced operating class 2 and 3 DP vessels using Kongsberg SDP-21 and SPD-22 systems



Offshore oil industry experience in ROV support, subsea completions & intervention and exploratory drilling



Towing vessel experience in West Coast, Hawaiian and Alaskan waters with dry cargo, clean petroleum and LPG barges.



Experienced with other vessel types and operations including research, surveying, passenger and fisheries.


Education


1984 graduate of the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy at Kings Point, NY



Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Nautical Science/Marine Transportation


Certification


Ocean Master of Vessels of any gross tons with Master Ocean Towing Vessels endorsement



STCW ’95 Certificate for all grades



Unlimited Dynamic Positioning Operator certificate (Nautical Institute issued)

Skils


Fully versed and accomplished in global navigation, communications, single and twin screw shiphandling, port and customs entry, supervision of hull and deck machinery maintenance and repair programs including drydockings, oversight of USCG and ABS surveys and inspections, insuring compliance with regulations of federal, and international bodies and the management & direct supervision of ship's crewmembers.



Particular experience with major vessel conversions involving planning, procurement, supervision, and project documentation.



Ship management experience encompassing operations expense budgeting, the use of computers in vessel administration, implementation of hiring and training programs for shipboard personnel, preparation of bids and pro-forma statements, establishment of vessel safety and maintenance programs including ISM Safety Management & ISPS Shipboard Security.



Dry cargo background with the stowage and handling of all manner breakbulk, containerized, refrigerated and rolling cargoes including military ammunition and explosives, the preparation of stowage plans and manifests, the operation and maintenance of most types of deck machinery and cargo handling equipment and the direct supervision of longshore personnel.
