As a Chief Mate in charge of overall safety, security, stability & deck maintenance on both types of vessels. Container ships involved complete aspect of cargo operations such as loading/discharging of cargo as well as ships stability.

Second & Third Mate involved navigation, voyage planning, medical officer, & maintenance of ships fire/safety equipment respectively.

TAGOS ships include top secret clearance along with numerous MSC required courses.

Captain aboard 200’ offshore supply vessel in Gulf of Mexico. Managed vessel in all areas of operation both above and below decks. Vessel handling and navigational planning, conducted and supervised inshore and offshore. Coordinate maintenance, inspections, and safety provisions aboard vessel. Company and vessel paperwork maintained.

Supervised the company’s USCG Streamlined Inspection Program (SIP) for all 135 vessels in the fleet. Previously supervised the daily maintenance and repairs of vessels in the capacity of Marine Superintendent. Coordinated inspections between vessels and USCG or ABS. Well versed and certified in USCG SIP program and ABS ISM/ISO.

July 1993 – Sept. 1996

Employed as Mate aboard an offshore supply vessel. Duties included ship handling, navigational planning, inspecting safety equipment, conducting safety meetings, and supervising deck personnel.
