Experience


Jan 2004 To Jun 2008: Worked as a Safety Manager at General Maritime Corp, Houston. Doing SIRE inspections and looking after time chartered tankers. Carrying out safety audits of oil terminals in Panama and due diligence inspections of oil storage facilities. Set up oil tanker screening process for a oil trading company.



Sep 2000 To Dec 2004: Worked as Vetting Manager at El Paso Corp, Houston. Incharge of marine risk assessment and management of company owned as well as chartered fleet. Incharge of terminal audits. Set up a safety audit regime for company owned/operated oil terminals. Carried out a number of management audits of ship owners as well as safety audits of tug and barge companies.



1980 to 1999: Sailed in various capacities from a deck cadet to Master of oil tankers of various sizes and carrying various cargoes.


Education


MS in Transportation Management from SUNY Maritime Colloge New York, NY in 2002.

BS Equivalent in Nautical Science from UK in 1991.

Graduated from Pakistan Marine Academy. Karachi, Pakistan in 1979.


Certification


Unlimited Master licence from UK with DCE for oil tankers.

OCIMF accreditated inspector for oil/chemical/gas tankers.

RCP Certified Auditor for American Waterways Operators.

ISM Lead Auditor from DNV


Skils


Experienced oil tanker inspector.

Experience in safety audits

Experience in safety audits of oil terminals.

Carrying out marine risk management for an oil trading company.
