Job Summary
As a Senior Business Analyst with one of the leading ship management company, you play a pivotal role in bridging the gap between business stakeholders and technology teams. You are responsible for eliciting, analyzing, and documenting business requirements and process flows across various departments. You act as a liaison between end users and IT vendors to ensure the delivery of high-quality, functional solutions aligned with maritime operational needs.Key Responsibilities
• Collaborate with business stakeholders across ship management functions to gather detailed requirements.
• Conduct workshops, interviews, and document analysis to create comprehensive Functional Requirement Documents (FRDs).
• Develop As-Is and To-Be process flows to identify process improvements and system enhancements.
• Translate business requirements into actionable user stories and epics using JIRA for agile tracking and sprint planning.
• Ensure alignment between business expectations and IT deliverables through continuous communication and documentation.
• Coordinate with IT vendors and developers for solution design, development, testing, and deployment activities.
• Review technical design specifications and validate them against business requirements.
• Support UAT planning, test case creation, and execution to ensure successful feature rollouts.
• Track change requests, manage scope, and document decisions throughout the SDLC lifecycle.
• Provide post-implementation support and assist in training end users on new functionalities.
• Contribute to the standardization of documentation practices and process frameworks across modules.
• Bring-in BA and project management best practices, frameworks to ensure requirements elicitation & managementRequired Skills & Qualifications
Education – Bachelor’s degree in Maritime Studies / IT or related field.
Master’s degree or MBA preferred.
Lean Six Sigma Certification (Green or Black Belt)
Experience:
• 10–12 years of experience as a Business Analyst, with at least 3 years in a senior role.
• Experience in the shipping industry, with IT BA knowledge of crewing processes and workflows is mandatory.
• Experience with Agile methodologies and should have extensively used tools like Jira or confluence.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills to collaborate with diverse teams.
• Proven ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment, and capable of taking up project management additionally as needed.
• Previous work experience with crewing products or systems in a pureplay IT role is preferred
• Proficiency in process modeling tools (e.g., BPMN, Visio, Lucidchart, Signavio etc.)
