Job Opportunity: Tug Captain or Tug Mate
We are currently seeking an experienced Tug Captain or Tug Mate to join our team. The ideal candidate will be a reliable and safety-conscious maritime professional with a proven track record in tug operations.
Position: Tug Captain or Tug Mate
Location: Eastern Seaboard, United States
Employment Type: Full Time, 4 weeks on 2 weeks off
Start Date: [Insert if known]Minimum Requirements:
USCG Master License – Minimum 100 Ton, Near Coastal endorsement
MOTV Rating (Mate of Towing Vessels)
Valid TWIC card
Current Medical Certificate
Valid MMC with appropriate endorsements
Strong knowledge of towing operations, safety protocols, and vessel maintenance
Responsibilities:
Operate or assist in operating towing vessels in a safe and effective manner
Ensure compliance with all USCG regulations and company policies
Conduct regular safety drills and vessel inspections
Maintain logs, reports, and communication with dispatch and port authorities
Lead or support the crew onboard with professionalism and clear communication
Preferred Qualifications:

Familiarity with harbor assist or coastal towing operations
Strong leadership and teamwork skills
