Basic Qualifications: 

  • Candidate must have at least 3 years of Marine Electrical experience.  
  • This is a service technician position that requires a hands on approach to troubleshooting, repair, and installation of all electrical applications onboard yachts ranging from 40' – 200’.  
  • Must have extensive experience as an electrician in the maritime industry working with installations and repairs onboard vessels.
  • Extensive knowledge of marine electrical systems, electronics, and programming. 
  • Yacht experience as in a maintenance role in yachting. 
  • Skill in the detection, diagnosis, maintenance and repair of marine electrical systems. 
  • Ability to communicate orally and in writing complex marine electrical systems problems.  
  • ABYC or NMEA certification in electrical a plus.

Description

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Inspect electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment or repair, and to ensure compliance with classification society requirements.
  • Diagnose malfunctioning systems, apparatus, and components, using test equipment and hand tools, to locate and correct a failure.
  • Construct and fabricate parts, repair or replace wiring, equipment, and fixtures using hand tools, power tools and specifications.
  • Test electrical systems and continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures using testing devices such as multimeters, and megger testers to ensure compatibility and safety of system.
  • Provide preliminary sketches and list materials.
  • Provide supervisor with job status and recommendations to improve quality and efficiency.
