Adjunct Refrigeration Instructor

Contract Date:  September 2021 through December 2021 (Fall Semester 2021)

Refrigeration/HVAC Instructor: Fall semester 2021. The successful candidate will have theoretical knowledge and practical hands-on ability in the design, operation, troubleshooting and repair of refrigeration and environmental control systems.  The instructor will teach cadets in the basic concepts of compression, condensation, expansion and evaporation and explain the risks associated with refrigerants, refrigeration systems and their operation/service. Demonstrate knowledge, understanding & proficiency to perform required STCW USCG assessments. EPA 608 Universal Certification required. 

 

Also desired is expertise in Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning. The successful candidate will have theoretical knowledge and practical hands-on ability in various HVAC engineering systems. Knowledge of ASHRAE defined; primary heating systems, primary cooling systems, air delivery systems, heat loss/load calculations, exhaust systems, cogeneration, building automation controls & systems. LEED & Sustainable design competency.
