Professional Experiences
a) Experience 1995 to 2007
I have served my apprentice ship as a cadet with AMPTC on a VLCC (MT Halul) and after passing the second mate exam in 1995, I joined ADNATCO as a trainee officer where I had sailed on different types of vessel as third and second officer until 2001 when I was promote to chief officer working my way through to the rank of a Master in August 2006. Since that time I am directly employed by Clyde Marine Recruitment Company in Glasgow, UK to work for ADNATCO,
Adnatco is the maritime arm of Abu Dhabi National Oil Co. (ADNOC) and a company which maintain one of the highest safety and operational standards. Adnoc and Adnatco’s commitment to HSE issues is well known in the oil / shipping industries. I was one of the very first Arab senior officers to serve on board Adnatco tankers where I sailed as Chief Officer in the age of 26 years old (through Clyde Marine Rec. Ltd, UK) on board their Product tankers and Chemical carrier. In addition to the mandatory ISM certifications, Adnatco is an ISO accredited company (both 9001 and 14001). One of my main functions as a chief officer was to maintain and update the safety equipments as well as training and motivating the crew in all safety, occupational health and environmental protection aspects. I was promoted to the rank of Captain in 2006 (in the age of 31 years old). Since then until today, I have commanded all types of crude, product (Both black and white) and chemical carriers operated by ADNATCO. In addition to captain’s traditional roll in ensuring safety of navigation and maintaining the vessel’s commercial capability, the captain on board Adnatco vessels is QA representative and the custodian of Safety Management System. At this stage I must say that I’m proud of my distinguished service record and achievements throughout my carrier on board Adnatco tankers.
b) Other qualifications / knowledge / Experiences
During my service on board Adnatco tankers, and in addition to Arabian Gulf and worldwide ports, I have become very much acquainted with most of the UAE major petroleum and commercial ports such as Ruwais /J. Dhannah, Das Island, Zarakkuh, Sas Al Nakhel, Mina Zayed and Dubai.
