Mid Atlantic Maritime Academy – Virginia Beach, Va.

Instructor (March 2007 – November 2008, March 2009 – Present)

•Marketing specialist: Promoted the school to the industry and recruited personal to attend various classes.

•Performed scheduling task, counseling and course development

•Trained Personnel in Basic Safety Training – Basic marine fire fighting, personal survival, personal safety and social responsibility; basic seamanship, navigation, and basic vessel operations – Able Body Seaman Upgrade, Advance first aid, CPR, and emergency medical procedures – Medical Care Provider, ships construction, ships stability, cargo handling, celestial and terrestrial navigation.

•Ensure timely information is entered into HRMS to included: EOD’s (Effective Onboard Date), LPI’s (Last Pay Included), leave sequences, home addresses, training certificates and ship to ship requests.

•Provide accurate information for relief, ship to ship transfer and coastal transfers utilizing discover reports to Senior Marine Placement Specialist (SMPS)

•Provided customer service to Mariners ashore and afloat on both east and west coasts and anticipate customer needs in regard to leave, training and travel.

•Manage mariner’s records, including payroll for 200+ Mariners.

•Maintained NON-CONFORMITY REPORT (NCR) and provided information to supervisors

Damage Control Officer (May 2002 – Apr 2003)

•Trained staff on Ordnance Hazard Awareness and Personal Survival.

•Created and implemented curriculum on various operational courses.

•Supported development of newly hired staff during orientation
