• Review and approve Structural Design Drawings

• Review and analyse weight calculations,

• Review, analyse and approve the structural stress, Strength requirement, Stability (Intact & Damage) Calculation for the Design.

• Review and approve procedures for inclining experiments, docking plans, sea-keeping calculations, noise predictions and various propulsion designs.

• Review and approve Technical Specifications and basic key plans such as NDT, WPS, ITP etc. to ensure concurrence of design with Owner/Charterer Requirement.

• After approval of the Class RINA, supervise the 3-D modelling of the hull form, isometrics and P & IDs for piping system and strength analysis of machinery foundations based on basic design and coordinate in issuing production drawings for commencing fabrication.

• Supervise the design of electrical schematic drawings for cable routing and MSB, DB installation and commissioning.

• Lead the integrated Project Management Team and chair regular meetings with Sub-Contractors, Classification Society, Yard and Clients to review progress, discuss problems/risk areas, review outstanding work items, review impact of recent decisions and discuss potential scope changes.

• Responsible for analysing structural design, reviewing engineering design reports and drawings, reviewing purchase specifications and vendor proposals, monitoring design progress, and reporting to top management the exact scenario of progress.

• Purchase specification, procurement order approval, Vendor selection.

• Supervise procurement processes, ship construction related procedures, and scheduling.

• Vendor, Contractors and Sub-contractor Evaluation, Selection & Approval of Equipment.

• To find incorrect executions and deviations from design as described in the specifications, solve any disputes arising from design flaw, faulty inspection procedure, production barriers or untimely schedule challenges.

• Conduct inspection of installation and commissioning of machinery equipment, hull construction, outfitting, Paint Coating, Piping installations electrical installations right from beginning of fabrication until completion of the vessel.

• Conducting tests, Inclining Experiments, mooring/basin and sea trials.

• Periodic communication with technical team, program personnel, supply chain and production team members and relate technical informations in design to team members as per various comprehensive levels;

• Documentation and drawings/ production schedule control.

• Managing and acquiring new projects, maintaining technical relationship skills (evaluating technical data), analytical skills and customer service skills.

• Maintain contact with major accounts insuring customer satisfaction and make sales calls on major customers and major projects with the Executive Vice President

• Review shipbuilding specifications and basic key plans and assist and report progress to the PM for smooth functioning of Project Team.

• Inspect and supervise all works of hull construction, outfitting, paint coating etc. right from beginning of fabrication until completion of the vessel satisfying GL Class rules, IMO requirements, SOLAS, ISP, ILO, IACS, PSPC, GL approved WPS, GL approved ITP, MARPOL and API Codes.

• Conducting weight & stability calculations and monitoring inclining experiments, mooring and sea trials;

• Material flow control involving, procurement, inspection for certification, and approval for fabrication.

• Random patrols for keeping a check on Welder’s qualification, adherence to WPS, Safety procedures followed in the yard.

• Review and analyze the structural stress & Strength requirement for the hull construction, design drawing approvals and recommend necessary changes/modifications as per structural load analysis.

• Execute the job while taking into consideration the safety rules of the shipyard.

• Evaluating and suggesting expected deliverable delays and analysing possible design improvements.
