Position related to Shipbroking


I am a current MSc student with eager ambition to develop career in Shipping Industry, esp. in tramp shipping companies (chartering and ship broking sectors). Working in these sectors can show and strengthen my communication, analyzing, negotiating and networking skills, which are the irreplaceable internal skills one can develop. I am also interested in working with people from different backgrounds and this industry provides me with the opportunity. I am very much looking forward to entering this competitive and challenging industry.

-Adapted to the internal operating database system, completing the task of arranging and categorizing new customers’ data accurately.

-Reinforced practical knowledge in shipping by seeking training opportunities in ocean freight forwarding process, issuance of Bill of Lading, Shipping Order and Letter of Credit, shipping schedules, calculation of freight quotation.

2. Research Assistant

Employer: Associate Professor Cheng-Chi Chung,Department of Shipping and Transportation Management,National Taiwan Ocean University (May 2007 – June 2009)


-Revised and analyzed English abstracts and contents of theses in detail as part of a group of postgraduate students.

-Translated Chinese theses into English text, currently being assessed for international publication.

3. Teaching Assistant

Employer: Lecturer Denis Michael Hayes, Foreign Language Teaching and Research Center, National Taiwan Ocean University (Sept. 2006 – June 2009)


-Liaised with American professor to ensure compatibility with Taiwanese student learning styles, editing and reorganizing chapters of English language books, subsequently used to teach ‘American Culture’ course for 3 years in succession.
