Port Captain/ Vessel Operation Manager


To contribute to the operational excellence and profitability and create value for the Organization through sincere service using a rich resource of experience of 18 years of service in the industry.



Provide guidance to vessel Masters with regards to Marine Port Operations.

Involved in Cargo Planning of Container vessels involving Stability and Lashing force calculations using approved Computer based software’s.

Involved in proper stowage and segregation of Dangerous Packaged goods meeting the requirements of the IMDG Code.

Voyage planning to optimize sea steaming distances in close coordination with vessel Masters.

Making decision on vessels bunker consumptions and calculating vessels bunker requirements.

Ordering bunkers for vessels.


Liaising with Port authorities, Pilots, Port Agents to ensure smooth Port calls.

Providing guidance to vessel masters with regards to International, Flag state and Local regulations.

Ensuring vessels certification and documentation is up to date for smooth Port Calls.

Arranging draft surveys as required and ensuring the results of surveys are correct.

Arranging for repairs for vessel damages and ensuring repairs by approved workshops completed to meet Class and Flag state requirements.

Providing Terminal with Stowage Instructions and liaising for smooth vessel operations

1) Communications :

? Daily position reporting.

? Dealing with terminals, agents for better productivity and minimum down time.

? Communicating with partners like of the service ( ZIM/ OOCL/ APL LINE)

2) Record Keeping :

? Running record of port and voyage performance.

? Slot sales and swap records of partners of the services.

? Restow records and valid reasons for same.

? Updating the company web for regular updates on schedules and vessels.

? Preparing information for the intranet and record keeping of same
