A dynamic Post graduate (IIT Delhi), Masters in Financial Management (MFM), a result oriented and focused professional who has gathered extensive experience of over 20 years experience in the Indian Navy at various senior managerial positions having worked at various capacities in Shipbuilding, Ship repairs, Ship Inspections, Construction of a dry dock, wharves and jetties. Senior Manager Quality Control Hull

(KPA: Ship’s Quality Assurance, Inspections and Repair activity)

• Lead a team of 30 quality control inspectors undertaking quality checks on various in-house and offloaded jobs on Naval ships and marine assets of Naval Dockyard (Mumbai).

• Formulation of quality circles, improvements in quality inspection procedures, in-house documentation and procedures.

• Inspections of naval warships in afloat and in drydock on jobs pertaining to steel renewal, underwater and above water painting, cathodic protections, drydocking plans, dock blocks.

Indian Naval Ship Maintenance Authority, Mumbai Jun 2002 – Jun 2007

As System Controller Hull, Planning and Logistics

(KPA : Ship Project Management/Ships’ Equipment defect analysis & Maintenance Management)

• Formulated and implemented Maintenance Management doctrines for all ships and submarines of Indian Navy as a senior member.

• 30% reduction in failure rates achieved by providing solutions through trending of re-current defects and causative analysis studies and promulgation of defect acquaints.

• Standardization of refit work packages of ships and submarines through coalition of data disseminated, analysis of past records and valuable onboard experience.

• Hull and Ships husbandry inspection of warships to ensure adherence to prescribed maintenance standards and philosophies during operational regime.

• Implemented software package on ships for maintenance management and database administration.

• System Controller Administration looking after entire administration of unit consisting of more than 50 personnel. Looking into procurements, AMC’s/FSMA of Xerox machines, all logistic requirements for day to day functioning.

• Administered smooth progress of construction activity of major warships under production at the premier shipbuilding yard in India, Mazagon Docks Ltd.

• Planned, coordinated all aspects of Launching of a warship.

• Commissioned two major war vessels.

• Logistics monitoring, preparations/certification of drawings and undertaking onboard stage inspections and certifications.

• Improved designs by use of advanced design and analysis Softwares including Tribon and Autocad.

Naval Ship Repair Yard, Port Blair, Andaman & Nicobar Islands Jan 1998-Apr 2000

Manager Planning and Offloading

(KPA: Ship Repair)

• Headed the Hull Ship Repair, Planning and outfitting activities of the yard comprising of a workforce of 500 industrial workers involving coordination and inventory management.

• Conducted offloading including Vendor assessment, technical and commercial negotiations for procurements and contract, budget monitoring, approval and authorization of payments.

• Functioned as a head of welding and outfitting Shops of the yard, Planning and resource allocation for repair and refit for nearly 25 ships, crafts.

• Managed Multiple (Off centerline) dry-docking of four naval vessels on a Floating Dry-dock.

• Recommended for commendation of the Chief of Naval Staff for professional excellence.

Director General Naval Projects, Mumbai May 1995-Dec 1997

Deputy Manager, Dry Dock Project

(KPA: Construction of Drydock, Berths and Wharves, Budget monitoring and Logistic Control)

• Functioned as a core member of team for design, construction and supervision of a 200 Crore dry dock project as a part of major infrastructure augmentation in the Naval Dockyard.

• Designed a caisson gate for the dry dock and brought in major structural design changes as part of modernization of the dock to include larger vessels.

• Handled assessment, development and pre-bid qualifications of vendors for procurement of specialized drydock equipments like sky rise platforms, open and vacuum blasting machinery, underwater painting equipments, jetty cranes, dock blocks etc.

• Designed the dry-dock bed, concrete wall structure, steel caisson gates (Floating gates) and associated structures.

Hull Inspection and Trials Unit, Mumbai Aug 1994-May 1995

Deputy Manager

(KPA: Ships Trials and Standards monitoring/Maintenance management)

• Undertook inspection of steel hull of Indian naval ships for maintenance standards, quality of underwater paints, application of paints and acceptance for sea worthiness.

• Formulation and conduct of performance trials of ship borne systems on new construction ships and during refits.

• Render periodic causative analysis reports on failures of ship borne equipments and recommend preventive measures based on in depth study.

• Planned, coordinated and completed timely refits of 12 major warships encompassing dry dock activities.

• Conducted Research and Development of new indigenous under water paints for warships.

• Executed projects such as commissioning of patent slipway, up gradation of Boat repair shop facility of the yard.
