Master

Objective


To bring together, as an on going process, different elements of my education, experiences and personality, and use them in synergy to rise to a position from where I can contribute significantly, and make an impact on the future of the organization

I am motivated, fast learner with excellent inter-personal and communication skills. Objective is to obtain a position that challenges and enhances my existing skills while providing a growing experience in a stimulating team-oriented environment.


Experience


1) From Dec-2008 till date – Working as Master on board LPG ships with Nippon Yusen Kaisha Ship Management Pte Ltd, Singapore, and successfully headed a crew of 24 individuals in my last assignment. Being the Master of the vessel I was in overall command of the vessel and responsible for the proper operation and safe navigation of the vessel as per the local and international maritime or otherwise laws, conventions, rules and regulations. Responsibilities included but not limited to proper loading and unloading of cargo as per charter party terms and clauses, Risk assessment and analysis, Personnel management on board of crew members, safe operation of the vessel as per UNCLOS and SOLAS. Successfully carried out gas freeing operations and readied the vessel for dry-docking, successfully docked the vessel at Singapore Keppel Shipyard in April-2009. Carried out all work in relation to a Manager on board the ship on behalf of the owners.



2) From Apr-2007 till date – Working as Master on board LPG ship’s with The Great Eastern Shipping Co.Ltd - India, successfully headed 35 crew members in my last assignment. Being the Master of the vessel I was in overall command of the vessel and responsible for the proper operation and safe navigation of the vessel as per the local and international maritime or otherwise laws, conventions, rules and regulations. Responsibilities included but not limited to proper loading and unloading of cargo as per charter party terms and clauses, Risk assessment and analysis, Personnel management on board of crew members, safe operation of the vessel as per UNCLOS and SOLAS. Successfully carried out grade change from Ammonia to LPG Butane. Carried out all work in relation to a Manager on board the ship on behalf of the owners.



3) From May-2006 to Mar-2007 – Worked as Chief Officer on board LPG ships with Exmar Ship-management NV – Belgium. Responsibilities included but not limited to 2nd in command of the vessel. Head of the Deck department. In-charge of the Cargo Operations as per Charter party terms and clauses, Risk Assessment and Analysis. Assisting Master of the vessel in the safe Navigation and safe operation as per various local and international maritime and otherwise laws, rules and regulations. Successfully took over a brand new LPG ship of around 25000 GRT from South Korea, Gassed up the vessel and put on trade.



4) Jan -2006 to Apr – 2006 – Completed Advanced Ship-management studies and received the qualification of Class 1 COC as Master Mariner.



5) From Aug – 2004 to Dec – 2005 - Worked as Chief Officer on board LPG ships with Exmar Ship-management NV - Belgium and The Great Eastern Shipping Co.Ltd - India. Responsibilities included but not limited to 2nd in command of the vessel. Head of the Deck department. In-charge of the Cargo Operations as per Charter party terms and clauses, Risk Assessment and Analysis. Assisting Master of the vessel in the safe Navigation and safe operation as per various local and international maritime and otherwise laws, conventions, rules and regulations. Successfully carried out the dry-docking of an LPG Ship at GEMAK Dry-dock at Tuzla, Turkey and subsequently gassed up to ammonia for loading.



6) From Jan – 2004 to Aug – 2004 – Completed Phase – II of the Mate F.G. studies and passed the Mates and Masters Examination to gain the qualification of Class II COC as Chief Mate.



7) From Oct – 2000 to Jan – 2004 - Worked as 2nd Officer on board Oil / product tankers and LPG tanker Ships, carried during my tenure cargoes like Fuel Oil, Diesel Oil, LPG, Ammonia. Responsibilities included but not limited to In-Charge of Navigational watch-keeping and assisting in safe navigation of the vessel and upkeep of navigational outfit on board the vessel, maintenance of Life saving and Fire fighting appliances as per International conventions such as SOLAS, MARPOL. Also assisted the Chief Operating officer during the dry docking of a LPG fully pressurised vessel at Dunkirk dry-dock in Northern France.



8) From Jan – 2000 to Aug – 2000 – Completed 2nd MATE FG studies and passed the Mates and Masters Examinations to gain qualification of 2nd MATE Certificate of Competency


Education


I have passed the All India Senior School Certificate Examination (HSC or 10+2) with English core, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and Biology. (72%)

I have appeared in TOEFL iBT on the 24th February 2008 – Results 100/120.

I am holding equivalent certification to BSc in Nautical Sciences from Mumbai University – India.
