Experience
Over 25 years of maritime experience in the oil field and related industries progressing to Master/OIM of DP III Drill Ships. Managed all aspects of vessel operations and safety programs under the Safety Management System for ISM / corporate policy compliance. Responsible for the safety of crew, cargo, vessel, environment, including monitoring stability, loading operations, bunkering and continuous drilling operations. Supervised the continuous maintenance programs, ensuring vessels compliance with all regulatory, class and port state requirements.
Involved in shipyard construction, supervision of crew for familiarization, placement and training. Writing and implementing of procedures for sea trials, maiden voyage, and initial operations. Operating these Ultra Deepwater Drillships in domestic and foreign waters including West Africa and Brazil.
Nautical Institute Certified DP operator acquiring over 30,000hrs of operations. Experience with Alstom, Nautronix, Simrad, Robertson and Honeywell systems with certification for advanced Acoustic positioning. Written and supervised operational procedures for Ultra Deepwater Drill ships, ROV operations, marine construction (platforms and pipelines) diving (surface and saturation) and marine heavy lift / sub sea construction.
Research Vessel experience as Master with Louisiana Universities Marine Consortium, Bermuda Biological Inst and Woods Hole Oceanographic Institute. Involved in all aspects of multi disciplinary oceanographic cruises using CTD’s ROV’s autonomous vehicles to dives with the manned submarine “Alvin” from the mother ship “Atlantis”
Computer proficiency in IBM, MS Word, Excel, Outlook, Power Point and Access. With familiarity on LAN installations, networking and telecommunications.
I have previously held Panamanian and Vanuatu licenses, equivalent to my USCG license, which can be renewed.
