• Developed and maintained direct customer contact, providing both recognized and intangible value through the direct sale of designated Wartsila service products, including two and four stroke engine parts and John Crane Lips propulsion related equipment

• Successfully negotiated long term maintenance contracts and competitive bids ranging from $500K to $3M

• Liaised with customers, Class surveyors and insurance companies to ensure minimum downtime of vessels during scheduled Class required inspections and major breakdowns

• Scheduled, coordinated and monitored major service jobs on large two stroke and four stroke diesel engines in order to deliver optimum service to operators of diesel engines in marine transportation and stationary power application

• Provided technical information as the technical link between the product companies, USA administration and the regions

• Worked directly with the Technical Manager, to monitor feedback on service profitability and customer satisfaction

• Provided 24 hour on-call technical contact

Jamaica Public Service Company Limited, Kingston, Jamaica

Plant Maintenance Engineer (09/1993 – 04/1998)

• Planned, implemented and executed scheduled maintenance, efficiency testing and troubleshooting on all aspects of operating units and auxiliary equipment, as well as the installation of new equipment at several power plant sites throughout the island. These generating units included two and four stroke diesel engines, steam turbines and gas turbines ranging from outputs of 12 MW to 72 MW

• Actively participated in an elite project team focused on Quality Control and Quality Assurance for all construction aspects for a 72 MW boiler

• Tested and commissioned new and rehabilitated equipment to maintain safety and high levels of productivity
