Experience
Worked with Indian & Foreign Shipping Companies from January 1976 till today. Joining as 5th Engineer and reaching the position as Chief Engineer (22 years as Senior Marine Engineer) at the time of leaving. During all these years of sea service, worked on different types of ships. The type of machinery involved is as follows:
Diesel Engines for main propulsion and power generation. Smoke tube and water tube boilers. Reciprocating and rotary air compressors. Air-conditioning units. Sewage treatment plants. Fresh water generator plants. Centrifuges for the purpose of oil separation. Hydraulic equipment such as Steering gears – cranes. Various types of pumps. Electrical motors. Electronic control equipments. Portable fire extinguishers. Fixed installation of CO2. Refrigeration plants.
Experience with oil major vetting inspections, budget planning and control, preparation and execution of dry-dockings. Good communication skills, good organization skills. Able to coordinate and work under pressure. Good computer skills and willing to travel abroad on regular basis. Job planning and maintenance executed and controlled in accordance with good practice and company standards.
