Internship:

Detyens Shipyards, Inc.

Charleston, South Carolina 2005



Served as an assistant to the various vessel ship supervisors in the repair of container vessels, tankers, ro/ros and tugs. Responsibilities included:

-Shipyard Efforts in Obtaining a Repair Contract

-Planning and Scheduling of Contracts and Bids

-Management of Construction and Repair Programs and of Individual Projects

-Classification Society (American Bureau of Shipping) Vessel Inspections



Commercial Shipping:

Served as engine cadet on three U.S. flagged commercial and military vessels for a total period of 300 sea days at sea.

-Engine room watch standing

-Safety inspections

-Main and auxiliary plant machinery planned and preventative maintenance

-Cargo Handling

-Plant start-up, warm-up and shut-off operations
