For Technical Superintendent (LNG), Qualified Maritime Trainer

Objective


To work in a challenging environment where my interpersonal and communication skills could be utilized in a resourceful manner backed by technical expertise gained in the Shipping industry and with experience attained in Maritime Training.


Experience


May 2011-To date-Leading International ShipOwner-Chief Engineer- LNG Fleet. Sailed on Steam propelled and Reliquefaction plant vessels.

April 1994 to April 2011-Leading Indian Shipowner.-Trainee Marine Engineer to Chief Engineer-Rose to rank of Chief Engineer in January 2002 and have gained extensive and varied experience on the following types of vessels:

LNG- Steam and DFDE,Crude Tankers: VLCC, Aframax etc., Product Tankers,Bulk Carriers,Ocean Research vessel with DC electric propulsion,General Cargo ship.Possess dry-docking experience.

Oct 1992 to Aug 1993-Indian Ship Repair Facility-Engineer-Dry-docking of general cargo, bulk , oil tankers and fast craft . Experience gained in lay-up repairs,scheduling,retrofits and commercial aspects of drydocking.

July 2002 to Present-Leading Maritime Education Institute.-Lecturer- Visiting Faculty-Delivered course content for a wide range of courses both at pre-sea and post-sea levels. Hold valid Trainer and Assessor Training Course certificate.


Education


Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Birla Vishwakarma Mahavidyalaya, Vallabh Vidyanagar (Sardar Patel University) , Gujarat, India. (1987-1991)


Certification


Certificate of Competency as Marine Engineer Officer Class I (Steam and Motor) issued by The DG Shipping, India.

Qualified Maritime Trainer and Assessor.

Steam Simulator course.

Engine Simulator Course.


Skils


Possess good working, maintenance and troubleshooting knowledge of different engine types and auxiliaries, including the steam plant.Good understanding of Safety Management Systems, International and Local regulations , Vetting and PSC inspections.Extensive Working knowledge in different Planned Maintenance Systems throughout sailing career.Budget planning, preparation of dry-dock specifications, managing retrofits of obsolete equipment.

Excellent working knowledge of modern day Integrated Automation Systems (IAS) and PLC based logic control systems.

Attended Gas Trials of LNG Newbuilding as Owner’s Representative in Korea.

Maritime Training:

Have good knowledge of preparation of course content as per IMO Model Course Curriculum.Delivered lectures on a wide range of subjects for courses, both at pre-sea and post sea levels.Been involved in setting up from concept stage to commissioning, various equipment for the pre-sea campus, including a Ship in Campus.

Ship Repair:

Managed and executed specialized repairs of rudders, propellers and retrofits of machinery. Good understanding of lay-up repairs, hull preparation and coatings and all related aspects of dry-docking.

Consultancy:

Carried out and delivered a LNG steam plant energy efficiency improvement project for leading Classification society on behalf of their partners.


 


Proficient in Computer applications of Microsoft Office.

Strong inter-personal skills, self-starter, self-motivated.
