The ship that I was permanently employed on is not sailing this year so I'm searching for employment elsewhere. I'm hoping to eventually go back to school and get my mate papers.
Worked for Algoma Central Corporation on the vessel Algo Rail (650ft) self-unloader as a ordinary seaman from June 28th/2005 to Oct 31st/2008.Responsibilties were maintenance such as greasing , painting , chipping , clean cargo holes, splicing ropes and wires , assess in arrivals , departures and in unloading procedures.
Worked for Canadian Steamship Lines as a Tunnelman on the Atlantic Superior (730ft)from Nov 19th/2004 to Dec 16th/2004. My duties were hosing, maintenance such as greasing, changing rollers and hydraulic hoses,etc and unload vessel.
Worked for Algoma Central Corporation on the Algo Steel(730ft) from June 30th/2004 to Oct 24/2004 as a Ordinary Seaman and as a Able Bodied Seaman. Regular duties were hosing, painting, chipping,greasing,and assess in arrivals and departures.I also stood watch and steered the vessel through rivers ,seaways and canals and docking.
Worked for Great Lakes Transport on the Jane Anne IV (650ft) Tug and Barge from Aug 18th/2002 to Oct 26/2003 as a Seaman, Able Bodied Seaman and Tunnelman. Regular duties were painting ,chipping ,greasing, unloading, steering vessel ,etc.
Fished on boats from 19ft to 65ft from 1993 to 2001 as a deckhand Trawl fishing, Trap fishing and Net fishing.
Completion of Non-Destructive Testing at the College Of The North Atlantic in 1994 to 1995.
