As the Team Leader for escort, the duty is to ensure the safe

Custody of the inmates to and from each destination like court, Hospitals or any other destinations. The Team Leader is also to ensure the briefing of team members, research of inmate’s profiles, plan of route and other security requirements like manpower deployment and other security requirements.

As the Security Officer, the roles include the following;



Conduct comprehensive Security Audit of the Prison premises and provide reports with recommendations of both the procedures and process adopted by the institutions so as to minimise all security lapses.

Writing & implementing Operational Orders for Contingency Exercise such as Riot, Escape and Fire.

Writing & implementing Operational Orders and Security Plan for high profiles visits by VIPs, such as Cabinet Ministers, Overseas Delegates and VVIPs visit such as His Excellency The Singapore President visit in 2001.



As the Institution Chief Armourer, the roles include the following;



Conduct weekly maintenance of all security equipments such as PR24 Baton, Oleoresin Capsicum Spray and restrain equipments.

Conduct monthly maintenance of all firearms such as Glock 19, .38 Revolver, HK and Pump Remington Gun.

Ensure sufficient supply of ammunitions and other security items.

Prison Staff Training @ Home Team Academy



As the Senior Trainer, the duties include the following;



Take charge of 15 trainees over the period of 18 weeks residential training and 4 weeks of On The Job Training.

Write trainees appraisal report on their monthly progress and full report upon completion of the 22 weeks training.

Conduct classroom lessons on Report Writing, Effective Communications, Observations Skills and Presentations Skills.

Conduct field training on Defence Tactics such as Close Quarter Defensive Techniques, Control & Restrain Techniques and Crisis Support Training.

Conduct weapon retention techniques.

Design new training package to suit the new operational requirements.

Design and conduct scenario training so as to enhance learning using the defence tactics. These are like Close Quarter escort duties from point to point for both inside and outside prison premises.

Conduct 7 days outdoor field training that includes both land & sea expeditions to allow trainees understand their true potential and capabilities.

Conduct leadership training in areas of team management.
