Preferred Qualifications:

  • Teaching experience of at least three years at the post-secondary level
  • QA/DE designation
  • Understanding of and dedication to the Academy’s unique mission
  • in Charge qualifications

 

Desired Assets:

  • Chief Mate Oceans unlimited license or higher
  • Varsity athletic coaching experience at the college level

Supervision Exercised:         Supervises student personnel in areas of responsibility

 

General Responsibilities:

  • Dual responsibilities in STCW & Mariner Credentialing Department (50%) and Marine Transportation Department (50%)
  • Instruct and/or assist instructors in various professional Marine Transportation labs
  • Participate in Sea Term on an annual basis supporting the Deck Training Coordinator in the instruction of labs and classes
  • Act as a subject matter expert in assessing cadets for STCW proficiency both ashore and afloat where appropriate
  • Act as an STCW subject matter expert supporting Mariner Credentialing processes

Salary:  $52,000 to $57,000 annually                                    FLSA Status:  Exempt
