  • At least 15 years operational marine background (Deck or Engine)
  • Shoreside management experience in the maritime industry
  • Demonstrated leadership skills
  • Strong communication skills – written & verbal
  • U.S. citizen, holds or eligible for a security clearance
  • A degree from an approved university, college, or technical institute


  • Well connected in the maritime industry
  • Business development experience
  • Familiarity with classification society rules (e.g. ABS, DNV, Lloyds)
  • Currently resides on the west coast/Bay area or willing to relocate
  • Government or military experience
  • U.S. union exposure
  • Three or more years sailing experience

About the Company: Patriot Contract Services, LLC is a leading maritime contractor to the U.S. Government, managing and operating vessels. PCS currently manages seven Ready Reserve Force (RRF) ships for the United States Maritime Administration (MARAD); eight Watson class Large Medium Speed RO-RO vessels for the United States Navy, Military Sealift Command (MSC); and commercial vessels for Schuyler Line Navigation Company. Job Summary:

This is a senior management position focused on the company’s operations and business development.  Day-to-day responsibility to the owners and President to ensure effective and efficient operations and communication between Programs. The Operations Manager must establish positive relationships with vessel personnel and possess strong management and organization skills.

Responsibilities & Authorities:

  • Perform continuous oversight of the operation of all of Patriot Contract Service’s Fleet
  • Ensures PCS Fleet vessels are able to sail on time and activate on schedule
  • Foster communication and the exchange of information between each Program
  • Ensure all contractually-required deliverables for the fleet are accomplished in a timely manner
  • Member of the Human Resources Committee, which is responsible for all Senior Officer assignments
  • Member of the Incident Response Team (IRT) for any vessel casualty occurring in the PCS fleet
