Genoa is seeking its inaugural Chief Operating Officer, based in Mount Pearl, NL, who will play a pivotal role in shaping strategy as well as  the future and development of the firm.  

The COO directs the team and resources to ensure the firm has the right structure, people  functional capabilities to achieve its strategic  while safeguarding the firm’s assets and financial stability.  

The COO will manage and develop business goals based on both current and future capability.  These goals will effectively anticipate and respond to the evolving needs of the business.  Additionally, the COO will ensure that day-to-day operations are consistently aligned with the firm’s objectives.  With sound operational oversight, the COO will oversee operating budgets, cost controls, performance measurements, administrative and human resources policies, risk management policies, contract administration and priorities  procedures.  

Demonstrating leadership, the COO will align employees and processes with Genoa’s culture and overall strategic direction, providing support for growth and development of the team and monitoring key performance indicators to confirm established goals and objectives are being achieved.  The COO is responsible for ensuring performance meets operational standards, financial targets and internal and external client service level agreements by striking the right balance of speed, quality  cost. 

As the ideal candidate, you have demonstrated senior leadership experience at the executive level within a corporate or professional services environment, along with business, operations  financial acumen.  Your knowledge and experience in ship design  considered an asset.  You have a high degree of integrity and honesty, consistently lead by example and use a visible management style to develop a collegial culture within your team.  A change leader, you seek opportunities for continuous improvement to organizational workflow and operational processes.  You have a successful track record identifying and driving value in an organization, as well as a reputation for being a trusted business advisor who fosters strategic organizational growth and development.  You have demonstrated strong fiscal and budgetary management and experience resolving operational issues in a client-centric environment.  You have natural and superior interpersonal and communication skills and can build seamless working relationships across an organization.  Detail-oriented, with excellent analytical,  and decision-making skills you possess natural confidence but are low ego and are known as a candid team player who is open-minded and patient in your approach to business.
