Company Overview:
We are a trusted marine services provider supporting critical infrastructure projects across the United States. We are currently involved in a subsea cable laying project off the coast of Virginia and are seeking a qualified 100-ton Boat Captain to provide on-call, ad hoc support on an ongoing basis.

Position Summary:
This is a part-time, ad hoc role ideal for an experienced Captain looking for consistent but flexible marine work. You’ll be responsible for operating a 100-ton support vessel during key phases of a subsea cable laying operation

You’ll assist with vessel positioning, crew transport, and operational support during cable deployment activities, working closely with the marine coordination team and deck personnel.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate our vessel safely and efficiently in support of cable laying operations.
  • Execute precise vessel movements nearshore and in shallow waters under direction from project managers.
  • Oversee safety, readiness, and maintenance of the vessel during each operation.
  • Coordinate with marine crews and assist with basic logistics and cable handling when needed.

Requirements:

  • Valid USCG 100-Ton Master License (Near Coastal minimum).
  • Current TWIC card and CPR/First Aid certification.
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience as a captain on workboats, tugs, or utility vessels.
  • Strong understanding of USCG regulations, navigation, and vessel maintenance.
  • Willingness to work short-notice and short-duration deployments (1–3 days/month).

Preferred:

  • Prior experience in cable laying or marine construction environments.
  • Familiarity with the Chesapeake Bay and Virginia coast preferred.
