Objective
To enhance my career in Management.

Work Experience
Gulf Marine Services owns and operates a modern offshore fleet consisting of one four point mooring barge, two AHTS vessels and eight self-propelled Jack-Up barges (liftboats). These assets serve the oil & gas and renewable energy sectors; primarily in the Persian Gulf and North Sea / UKC (managed via the Aberdeen branch), focusing on well maintenance and work-over, offshore accommodation, diving and construction, wind-farm installations and maintenance, supporting salvage and offshore towage.
My present position involves operating a fleet of K-Class Jack-Up barges and AHTS within the Abu Dhabi Operations Department. The Fleet Manager exclusively handles all aspects of fleet dry-dockings / afloat repairs, mobilisations and budget preparation / management. My role also involves daily meetings with the Crewing & HSE Managers to discuss and resolve near misses, incidents, safety stand downs, statistics, rotations and improvements. Within this role I am point of contact with the vessels clients (ADMA OPCO, ZADCO, JRM, OXY) and sub-contractors (currently Baker-Hughes for cementing package, SEACORP for H2S cascade systems and Aramark for catering)

I am familiar and confident with, ABS NS5, AMOS, MPM, SHIPMANAGER, DOCKSMART, in-office purchasing systems, safety databases, accounting programs and have extensive communication, written reporting, computer and systematical-analytical skills.
I have sound, proven experience related to application & compliance of Classification Societies (Steel vessels & MOU / MODU), IACS, Flag Administrations, IMO Codes, SOLAS, MARPOL, IMCA, USCG etc. and ultimately keep my assigned assets maintained in a safe and seaworthy condition in accordance with the requirements issued by the client, the Company's senior management, administrations and classification societies.

Engineering Cadetship with Pacific Nuclear Transport Ltd., James Fisher and Sons. at South Tyneside College, England between 1990-1994 leading to a Higher National Diploma in Marine Engineering.

My sea going career spans from 4th Engineer to Staff Chief Engineer / Chief Refrigeration Engineer sailing on a wide variety of vessel types ranging from Irradiated Nuclear Fuel carriers, Cable repair vessel, Container vessels and latterly and predominantly Passenger Cruise vessels.

Skills
I have a CLASS 1 MOTOR (unlimited) MARINE ENGINEER CoC valid until 20 September 2016 along with additional industry qualifications / certification. My sea going experience as a Marine Engineer / HVAC Engineer spans general cargo, cable repair, container and cruise vessels.
I have extensive shore side experience as HM / warranty Surveyor on all types of vessels from offshore, tank, bulk, general and passenger etc. I have a solid background in Ship Management operations both in DEEP SEA SHIPPING and OFFSHORE companies, vessel repairs (afloat and dry docking / projects) and am adaptable to all repair situations having been a Technical Superintendent / Fleet Manager for Owners and Third Party Managers.
Recent large project dockings I have planned and conducted range from AFRAMAX Tankers, JACK-UP BARGES, Refrigerated Dry Cargo vessels and AHTS vessels. I have also been engaged in jack-up barge mobilisations and alongside repairs / refurbishments.
I have sound, proven experience related to application & compliance of major Classification Societies (Steel vessels & MODU), IMO Codes, SOLAS, MARPOL, SIRE, etc.
My skill sets include:-
Operational – in service

• Setting vessels operational budgets on a January to December basis, afterward reporting any variance in vessels budgets to senior management
• Carrying out regular appraisals of ships staff and assessing new candidates for employment and internal promotions.
• Evaluation of quotations for stores and spare parts, ultimately aiming for most cost effective and timely delivery to vessels.
• Reviewing and the management of fuel oil analysis, lubricating oil analysis vibration analysis, thermo graphic inspections and machinery parameters.
• Ensuring maintenance is undertaken and recorded as per the electronic planned maintenance system.
• Identifying areas for improvement in the planned maintenance system to increase cost effectiveness and efficiency of maintenance operations.
• Arranging and managing sub-contractors to carry out works and projects onboard vessels.

Shipyard and project

• Identification of repair jobs and repair specification writing
• Analyzing shipyard project tenders, taking into account ship yard bids and vessel deviation times to ensure repairs are carried out in the most cost effective manner with the vessel being returned to the Owner in the assigned window.
• Finalising and negotiating shipyard final accounts, securing attractive discounts on the final amounts.
• Continuous monitoring of third parties (Contractor), evaluating technical and economical proposals, monitoring relevant activity.
• Final project reporting to Owners.

Supervise the overall project and support the vessels team, participate in issuing technical advice on:-
• Blasting & coating, submerged hull, ballast tanks, cargo tanks, various steel structures.
• Steel repairs and modification to hull structures.
• Machinery repairs and upgrades, propulsion diesel engines, winches, cranes, cargo handling equipment, rotating machinery, steam plant and electrical power generation plant.
• Pipe-work installations, modifications and repairs.

Safety, quality and environmental
• Working in hazardous areas, with the potential for Hydrocarbon and Hydrogen Sulphide gas.
• Managing safe working practices of assigned personnel using permit to work and risk assessments.
• Environmental waste management of ship board wastes.
• Ensuring that vessel operations and conducted it strict accordance with the companies safety management and quality systems.
• Maintaining vessel operational status with regard to major classification societies and flag state administration requirements
• Monitoring of KPI’s (Key Performance Indicator)

Having lived in the Med, Middle East and South East Asia I have a large contact base to draw upon with relevant local experience in these areas.
