Over 40 years as a professional in the marine industry, with experience in all aspects, from ordinary seaman, to owner of a small transportation firm to a 20 year veteran as an Alaska ships pilot.
I maintain professional conduct and I am confident with other marine professionals concerning on-board issues from pilot house to engine room. My professional skills are numerous and above reproach, however I maintain a willingness and eagerness to learn new skills and accept new responsibilities.

Employment Summary
Independent Alaska Ship Pilot 1992-2012
• Under personal contract to Totem Ocean Trailer Express piloting their 840' ships up Cook Inlet to the port of Anchorage with an estimated 640 dockings to date without incident. This included riding the ship between Tacoma, Washington and Anchorage, Alaska
• High stress environments such as docking in high winds and heavy ice conditions.
• Accurately calculate tides and currents of Cook Inlet to cross the Knik Arm Shoal and dock at the Port of Anchorage on time.
• Extremely knowledgeable of mechanical equipment on marine vessels.
Tug Boat Captain 1989
Sause Bros. Ocean Towing
• Operated single and twin screw tugs towing fuel/lumber barges off the West Coast USA.
Oil Supply Vessel Captain 1986-1987
Offshore Services, Inc Nikiski, AK
• Operated various 180-220' oil rig supply vessels between the Nikiski dock and all of the Cook Inlet, Alaska oil rigs.
Moss Harbor Marine, Inc. 1977-1986, 1988-1991
• Original owner and operator of a coastal freight and tug company, with vessels including a 115' landing craft, a 60' coastal tug, and a 167' oil rig supply vessel.
• Negotiated all contracts and coordinated schedules for all vessels working throughout South Central and Western Alaska, and the Inside Passage to Seattle.
• Personally maintained all vessels including most steel and mechanical work.
• Managed the crew for all vessels
