Objective

Position/Title: Chief Engineer
Responsibilities/
Achievements: Sailed in the above capacity for total of twenty one months on four geared handy bulk carrier vessels. The sphere of responsibility was, in Charge of the Vessel's Engine room and its staff. Assist the vessel’s master in technical matters and incharge of all maintenance, operation and surveys on the main propulsion and auxiliary plants and other vessels equipments. In charge of fuel and lubricating oils and their bunkering operations. Carried out a windlass hydraulic motor change at sea and was involved with shore workshop personal in the replacement of damaged hull section plates of the ship.


Tradex Pacific Ltd – New Zealand

Responsibilities/
Achievements: Joined as relief Ch.Engineer, on board a multi-purpose vessel with two cranes. The vessel propulsion unit consisted of a four stroke diesel engine and a controllable pitch propeller.

Responsibilities/
Achievements: Joined the this company as a Second engineer on board a Panamax gearless bulk carrier and on successful completion of contract, was promoted as Chief engineer and joined another geared bulk carrier. During my tenure onboard was able to find and rectify the frequent piston ring failure on the main engine, which was a two stroke slow speed engine on my first ship. Further onboard the second vessel Involved in the repair of a damaged crane jib, and replacing and overhauling of the hydraulic motors in the cranes. Also have experience in operation, maintenance and repair of remote controlled grabs.

Responsibilities/
Achievements: As the first assistant to the Chief Engineer and was in-charge of the of the Engine room personnel. Carried out daily maintenance and operational duties of the engine room, as per Chief Engineer’s instructions. The vessels sailed were two cape size vessels.

Responsibilities/
Achievements: Joined as Second engineer for the first time. The vessel was a fifteen year old geared break bulk-container vessel, which was taken delivery from a French company to my principal’s in Papua New Guinea. Experience in working on reefer containers, and two electro hydraulic cranes.

Responsibilities/
Achievements: Was a Senior Engineer of the watch in charge of the Operation and Maintenance of the main propulsion and auxiliary plants on board the vessel, in addition had to assist the electrical engineer in operation and maintenance of the reefer containers carried on board and on electric cranes.

Responsibilities/
Achievements: I joined the Pacific International lines of Singapore as a junior engineer and sailed on two of their vessels were the duties were to assist the Engineer of the watch in the Operation and Maintenance of the main propulsion and auxiliary plants on board the vessel. Upon qualifying with the class-2 (motor) competency certificate was promoted as fourth Engineer to take delivery of a container ship from Toyohashi ship yard in Japan for the Pacific International Lines of Singapore. Most of the jobs onboard were of guaranty related. Further assisted the Chief Engineer in bunkering operation and fuel calculations.
