I am seeking a permanent position with a respected maritime company as a USCG licensed engineer.

Experience: Crosby Tugs Galliano, LA
Chief Engineer September 2007 to Present
Coordinated 4 months vessel refit on an 8,000 HP, rig moving tug at Bollinger Shipyard in Larose, LA and a 5 months vessel repair period at Bollinger Shipyards, Morgan City, LA on a 10,000 HP anchor handling tug. Perform daily duties as Chief Engineer on 7,000 to 10,000 HP tugs in Gulf of Mexico.

Chief Engineer May 2002 to September 2007
Chief Engineer on ocean going tugs and petroleum barges. EMD, Caterpillar 3500 and Alco main engines. Reintjes, Faulk, Lufkin and Haley gearboxes. Markey and Intercon winches. Petroleum barges have DDA, Caterpillar and Northern Lights cargo and auxiliary engines, Byron Jackson deep well pumps.

Machinist at a major repair shop. Completed scheduled maintenance and unscheduled repairs on EMD and General Electric locomotives. Work included engine overhauls, component change outs, turbos, power assemblies, main bearings, pumps, gear train replacement etc. 6 months in component shop rebuilding Woodward governors, fuel injectors and control assemblies. 14 months as Lead Troubleshooter diagnosing problem locomotives and repeat failures.

Lead Instructor at Naval Amphibious School, Coronado to US military and DOD personnel. Curriculum included overhaul, maintenance and casualty control procedures on DDA , Volvo Penta, Cummins and Evinrude/Johnson marine engines.

Assigned as Lead Petty Officer of ships Aft Engineroom. Responsible for supervision and training of 27 watchstanders and maintenance personnel. I am an excellent troubleshooter and I practice good mechanical habits. I have the background and experience that gives me the skills to diagnose and repair while underway utilizing materials and repair parts on the vessel preventing costly downtime and unnecessary returns to port. I have a good working knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic and shipboard auxiliary systems.
