I am currently a 3rd Engineer with 2nd Engineer license. I hope to be working with you as a 3rd Engineer or maybe as a 2nd Engineer in the near future.

POSITION : Third Engineer
VESSEL: SKANDI PMS 2

Skandi PMS 2 is an (AHTS) Anchor Handling Tug Supply vessel with (DP) Dynamic Positioning System, 2x side thrusters, azimuth thruster, 200 tons bollard pull, anchor handling and towing drums of 500 ton each. Having cargo of fuel oil, drill water, potable water, brine, liquid mud, base oil, cement and methanol.
My job responsibilities are as follows:
Assigned of the 0000H-0600H/1200H-1800H watch. In which times I am responsible for the continuous operation of all engine room machineries & equipments including cargo-handling equipments.
Make sure there is enough electrical power to supply the consumption of the ship, especially during operations. Starting, shutting down electrical generators when necessary (3 main bus bar power plant with total available power of 6590 Kw.)
Ensure continuous running of main propulsion system, 2 X 6000 Kw 3616 Caterpillar engines.
Regular check of fuel, water & lubricating oil tank levels.
Filling-up and transfers where necessary.
Responsible for the operation and maintenance of auxiliary machineries such as;
· Electric power generator engines. Caterpillar
· Main engines. Caterpillar
· Liquid centrifuges/separators. Westfalia
· Starting air, working air & control air compressors. Sperre
· Fresh water maker. Alfa-Laval
· Various types of engine room pumps and cargo pumps. Ing Per Gjerdum
· HVAC units. York
· Hot water boiler. Pyro
Fabricate parts for the above machineries when needed.
Updates reports on the Planned Maintenance System (PMS).
Carry out tests on the water content of fuel, lubricating oils.
Tests and treats boiler feed water & engine cooling waters.
Reports any abnormalities during my watch to the Chief Engineer.
Performs other maintenance jobs as directed by the Chief Engineer or the Second Engineer

POSITION : Third Engineer
VESSEL : POLAR VENTURER
COMPANY: OSM-Orient Ship Management, VP bldg., Pedro Gil St., Ermita, Manila City, Philippines

Polar Venturer is of a seismic research type of vessel. It utilizes high-pressure pneumatic guns that use up to 270 bars of air pressure. The high-pressure air penetrates below the seabed, which creates a feedback to data collecting equipments.
My job responsibilities are as follows:
Assigned of the 0000H-1200H watches/duties. In which times I am responsible for the continuous operation of all engine room machineries & equipments.
Ensure continuous running of the main propulsion engines. 2 X 2600Kw of power.
Make sure that there is enough electrical power to cope up with the ship’s activities or operations.
Starting, synchronizing or shutting down of electrical generators when necessary, 3 X 1600Kw of power.
Regular check of fuel, water & lubricating oil tank levels.
Filling-up and transfers where necessary.
Responsible for the operation and maintenance of auxiliary machineries such as;
· Electric power generator engines. Bergen-Rolls Royce
· Seismic air compressors, 270 bars maximum pressure X 8 units. Hamworthy.
· Liquid centrifuges/separators. Mitsubishi Selfjector
· Starting air, working air & control air compressors. Sperre
· Fresh water maker, reverse osmosis plant. Atlas
· Various types of pumps
· HVAC units
· Steam boilers
Fabricate parts for the above machineries when needed.

VESSEL: SILVER SHADOW
COMPANY: TSM - - Thome Ship Management, TSM House, 1747 Dian St., Palanan, Makati City, Philippines

Silver Shadow is a luxury cruise liner, which voyages, to different parts of the world basing on the season of the areas being traveled.
My job responsibilities are similar to that of the above position except for the addition of storekeeping. The vessel uses AMOS-D for Windows (Administrative, maintenance & operations system database), which features on-line purchasing and automatic updating of the spares parts, depending on the usage & purchased amounts.


POSITION: Fourth Engineer
VESSEL: WESTWOOD ANETTE

Westwood Anette is a container ship with 2 sets of built-in of gantry cranes.
My scopes of my responsibilities for the two vessels are almost similar which include:
Ensure continuous running of the main propulsion engine. During my 0800H – 1200H & 000H – 2400H watch.
Make sure that there is enough electrical power to cope up with the ship’s activities or operations. Starting, synchronizing or shutting down of electrical generators when necessary.
Regular check of fuel, water & lubricating oil tank levels. Filling-up and transfers where necessary.
Responsible for the operation and maintenance of auxiliary machineries such as;
- Electric power generator engines
- Liquid centrifuges/separators
- Starting air, working air & control air compressors
- Fresh water maker, generators
- Incinerating machines
- Various types of pumps
- Accommodation air-condition
Fabricate parts for the above machineries when needed.
Take regular lube oil and fuel oil tank sounding and prepare bunkering plan if necessary.
Updates report on the Planned Maintenance System (PMS).
Carry out tests on the water content of fuel, lubricating oils.
Tests and treats boiler feed water & engine cooling waters.
Reports any abnormalities during my watch to the Chief Engineer.
Performs other maintenance jobs as directed by the Chief Engineer or the Second Engineer.
