Ensure the proper and timely organizing of engine overhauls for all HAL vessels. This would include management of allocated repair and maintenance expenses against budget, oversight of technical purchases and deliveries, supporting and scheduling the service engineers involved and keeping contacts with the vendors.
Scheduling the Engine Overhauls as per company standard and in cooperation with the ship's staff.
Scheduling the Turbo Charger overhauls as per company standard and in cooperation with the ship's staff.
Evaluate, troubleshoot and solve technical problems on the ships engine systems as well as providing training and guidance in cooperation with other staff of the Technical Operations department.
Evaluate, adjust and approve material requisitions in cooperation with the Chief Assistant Technical Superintendent and the Deputy Director Technical Operations.
Review, code and approve invoices from vendors after matching prices with quotations received from technical purchasing department.
Schedule the Pre-Alaska services for those ships that will be in Alaska.
Act as a company contact for the vendors involved.
Schedule the timely delivery of parts to the vessels in cooperation with the logistics department.
Schedule and organize the engine overhaul teams with/for the in-house service engineers and outside contractors.
Maintain a monitoring system for engine performance in order to monitor several aspects of the engine plant.
Frequent travel to work on the vessels.
Experience in managing a shoreside vessel maintenance program
Experience with companies engines (ZA40S)
Familiarity with application of Class Society and Flag State rules
Project Management skills and experience
Strong communication, problem solving and PC skills needed
