Job Description
This position is located in the Investigations Division, Office of Marine Safety (MS), National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB). NTSB is the Federal agency charged by Congress with investigating every civil aviation accident in the U.S. and significant accidents in other modes of transportation – railroad, highway, marine, and pipeline. The Board publishes reports of investigations and issues safety recommendations aimed at preventing future accidents. The Office of Marine Safety has the responsibility for investigating major marine accidents and incidents and for proposing probable cause for the Board's approval. In conjunction with other offices within the NTSB, the office also works to formulate recommendations to prevent the recurrence of similar accidents and incidents, and to otherwise improve marine safety.
