Princess Cruises - We are currently searching for a highly motivated Technical Naval Architect to operate, maintain and repair the fleet in a safe, compliant, efficient and cost effective manner, ensuring the good condition and availability of the hull, structure, tanks and deck machinery. This position reports directly to the Fleet Director SME's.

Executes hull and structure projects onboard ships and ashore according to department Policies &Procedure s , best practices and external regulations.

Plans and prioritizes operational projects relating to hull and structure to agreed schedules.

Drives and coordinates ship staff fleet wide; contractors; and local authorities to execute project plans.

Drafts fleet maintenance plan for hull and superstructure, including tanks, crack monitoring, and painting ensuring safe and efficient operation, and availability.

Develops procedures and equipment enhancements to facilitate the safe and efficient operation and maintenance of the hull, structure, tanks and deck machinery.

Oversees all aspects of planned and unscheduled maintenance and repair of the hull, structure, tanks and deck machinery.

Collaborates with the Technical Operations Directors and CE's/Staff Captains in development of the R&M, dry dock and capital budgets for hull, structure, tanks and deck machinery onboard their ships.

Maintains regular communication with the shore side marine, safety and compliance departments to ensure awareness and appropriate action.

Submits reports to senior management as required by technical operations policy and procedures.


Degree in marine engineering, naval architecture or equivalent sea going experience.

At least 10 years' experience in passenger shipping technical management.

Experience in cruise ship maintenance and repair of hull , decks , tanks and structure including coatings (not coverings), mooring equipment, cranes, accommodation ladders, shell doors, fire, water tight, and splash tight doors.

Excellent leadership, interpersonal and communication skills to aid in collaboration of shoreside and commercial teams.

Must be capable of multi-tasking and work under pressure to maintain agreed project deadlines and budgets.

Displays ability to be a self-starter capable of working under their own initiative and as part of a larger team.

Excellent written and oral communication skills for negotiating, presenting and resolving complex technical, inter-personal and commercial issues.

Ability to travel approximately 20% of the time.
