Job Description
Role and Responsibilities
The Naval Architect will report directly to the Chief Engineer (one of two company founders) and will interface with the Engineering Manager and the recreational, commercial and military sales teams.

Seakeeper had developed practical mathematical models of boat motion, gyro dynamics and gyro control using MatLab and Simulink. These models are used to refine the gyro design, develop software and make roll reduction predictions for customers. Seakeeper has decided to bring on a Naval Architect to continue the development and validation of these models as well as develop new ones and apply them to gyro improvement, new gyro designs and customer applications.

Seakeeper is looking for an individual who enjoys developing mathematical models, correlating the models with test data and making performance predictions in support of new designs and applications. This is a very unique opportunity for a naval architect in that the modeling work is focused on a new product as opposed to paper studies. Additionally, the new product is a game changer in the marine industry that will become standard equipment on yachts, workboats and patrol craft.

Strong interest in mathematical modeling from a theoretical point of view combined with interest in correlating predictions with real world test data for validation purposes. Strong interest in using simulation tools for making practical performance predictions for customers on a daily basis. Superior time management skills, multitasking skills, and the ability to prioritize tasks with minimal supervision are essential. Strong command of Microsoft Office products, interpersonal skills, team player, and detailed oriented with minimal error.
