Princess Cruises – We are currently searching for a highly motivated Project Naval Architect to provide quality support to the Technical Department for all naval architectural and structure related issues and incidents. Reporting directly to Vice President Technical Services this person conveys company core values in all interactions with contractors or vendors and fosters a teamwork environment.

Responsibilities
• Supports vessel technical operation with respect to naval architecture, ship structure, ship design and cost effective improvements.
• Undertakes special technical investigations as directed by the VP Technical Services.
• Provides maintenance and training support for the Onboard Napa Stability system.
• Performs shipboard surveys and generates reports to management.
• Coordinates with operational departments to meet their future needs or requests.
• Analyzes, negotiates and awards project contracts where applicable.
• Oversees implementation and coordination of projects.
• Reviews structural, repair and modification drawings for compliance with classification, administration and internal regulations.
• Prepares ship drawings for submission to Classification Societies and Flag Administration.
• Coordinates with port and ship regarding container and stores loading/offloading where applicable.
• Oversees delegated Refman jobs.


Requirements
• Bachelor of Science in Naval Architecture or related field.
• Minimum five years’ experience in the marine industry with a focus on marine structure.
• Familiar with up to date statutory and regulatory requirements.
• Experience in managing large projects.
• Familiar with ship stability, fire regulations and structural calculations.
• Must have strong computer literacy.
• Ability to travel 35%.
• Knowledgeable in MS Office applications.

Preferences
• Competent in the use of Onboard NAPA, Design NAPA and Autocad preferred.
