Job Description
This position requires a minimum of a limited USCG Merchant Mariners Chief Engineer's License for motor vessels of 1600 GT / 3000 ITC.

The Chief Engineer is the head of the Engine Department on board and holds the primary responsibility for the safe, incident free operation and maintenance of all machinery of the vessel.

The role reports to the Master in all matters concerning this department, its personnel and its functions. This individual is responsible for the overall administration and operation of the Engine department, the on board maintenance and preventive maintenance, remaining in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations. The individual is responsible for other engineers and unlicensed personnel assigned to the Engine department. The Chief Engineer is responsible for the safe operation, maintenance and upkeep of machinery on board the vessel. This individual is responsible for the personnel assigned to their department operate safely and efficiency in the execution of their duties. The Chief Engineer responsibility includes taking appropriate steps to ensure that his subordinate engineer officers are informed and complete with all applicable laws and regulations, including proper operation, bunker and lube transfers, emissions, and discharge. The Chief Engineer is also designated as the Environmental Officer on board.

This role requires the use of an automated planned maintenance system. Our preference is experience NS5 (Safenet), however, other automated experience would be acceptable.

The Chief Engineer must also perform other duties and tasks as assigned.


Job Requirements :
This position requires a minimum of a limited USCG Merchant Mariners Chief Engineer's License for motor vessels of 1600 GT / 3000 ITC.

The position requires a valid TWIC card.
The position requires a valid passport.

The position requires a valid MMD (Zcard).

The position requires STCW training.

The position requires prior experience as a Chief Engineer with a minimum of 5 years sailing experience.
