Manager, Engineering Compliance (Jacksonville, FL)
Crowley is looking for an experienced marine engineer to assess, mentor and improve the engineering skills of seagoing marine personnel to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, company standards, and contractual customer expectations. Chief engineer unlimited experience is preferred. This is a new position.

JOB DESCRIPTION:
Management position responsible for assessing the engineering skills of seagoing marine personnel to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, company standards, and contractual customer expectations. Coordinate the definition and documentation of marine engineer professional standards with the business units. Provide written reports to leadership detailing the results of assessments and recommendations for ongoing training to correct deficiencies. May present lectures on engineering topics at intercompany seminars.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION:
• 5-8 years applicable experience. Specifically, 2 years as a Chief Engineer aboard a merchant marine vessel. Experience with marine training, marine auditing and/or assessment of engineers preferred. Knowledge of marine engineering at the Chief Engineer Unlimited Oceans Level (advanced) preferred.
• Strong knowledge of Safety (CFR 46), International Safety Management Code (ISM) and Standards for Training, Certification and Watchstanding (STCW) relating to engineering standards.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills to diverse audiences.
• Ability to explain regulatory and company standards to influence behavior and improve individual performance.
• Vocational/Technical School required. Bachelor’s Degree in Marine Engineering preferred.
• USCG Chief Engineer License (Unlimited Oceans) with matching STCW 95 endorsement. TWIC (Transportation Worker Identity Card) required.
