Tetra Tech currently has an opportunity for a Marine Surveyor / Hydrographer at our Bothell, WA location.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

•Play a lead role in implementing capture plans, manage and/or coordinate the development of proposals, statements of qualifications, and other marketing materials.
•Development of plans, specifications, analyses, evaluations, charts/alignment sheets, procedures and reports.
•Collection and interpretation/evaluation of marine survey and scientific data.
•Work will also include sediment sampling and coring, and other field and office work.

QUALIFICATIONS/COMPETENCIES/EXPERIENCE:

•Bachelor of Science degree (or higher) in marine geology, oceanography or similar field.
•Pipeline or cable route, dredging/marine construction, offshore and/or hydrographic and geophysical survey experience.
•Demonstrated understanding of multibeam, vessel mounted LiDAR and sidescan sonar survey methodologies (including attitude sensor and RTK GPS).
•Experience with any or all of the following software: Hypack/HySweep, CARIS HIPS/SIPS, Fledermaus, EdgeTech Discover, SonarWiz, POSPac, DELPHINS, PolyWorks, Oasis Montajm, Microsoft Office, and have general computer skills. Programming experience a plus.
•Sediment sampling with vibracore, piston corer, gravity corer, CPT and grab samplers a plus.
•Physically fit to work long hours in the field and lift heavy objects (50 lbs.).
•2+ years of experience preferred.
Ideal candidate must have a valid driver’s license, be a self-motivated individual capable of working in a team and consulting environment in the office and in offshore and remote survey conditions. Must also be willing to travel to project sites for extended periods (4 – 6 weeks), be able to work independently and with our multidisciplinary team of professionals and staff.
