Director, Business Development – Marine Systems
Marotta Controls, a valve and fluid control component and systems manufacturer serving the defense marketplace for over 70 years is seeking 2 (two) Directors, Business Development – Marine Systems due to retirement and planned business expansion.
Directors will be responsible for all areas of the Customer Interface Process including identification, qualification, pursuit, and capture of new and follow-on business opportunities, domestic and international.
Position will interface significantly with Engineering to develop new or derivative products to meet market demands and increase market share.
This position reports to the Senior Vice President of Business Development and Chief Sales Officer.
Bachelor degree in business or engineering with MS in Engineering preferred and a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience. Naval officer level active duty experience highly desirable. Previous BD training and international BD experience also desired.
Successful candidates must be knowledgeable of surface and subsurface ships with strong understanding of fluid control systems including valves and controls, both mechanical and electronic.
Demonstrated knowledge and experience within the marine prime contractors, tier 1 suppliers, and marine services acquisition and technology centers – their methods, requirements and procurement processes is vital.
Must have the ability to travel up to 50% or more.
