Job Description
LIFEBOAT SERVICE TECHNICIAN:
VIKING Life-Saving Equipment – Americas is seeking qualified personnel to work in the marine industry as LIFEBOAT SERVICE TECHNICIAN(s) from our Miami, Houston, Seattle and Panama locations. VIKING is a market leader in maritime safety, providing and servicing essential safety equipment for the offshore, Denmark, with 1,600 employees worldwide and a unique global network that includes 54 branch offices and 270 certified servicing stations.
QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE
• Minimum of 2 years experience in marine industry is preferred
• Mechanical/technical background of marine systems is preferred
• Excellent time management/project planning skills are required
• Domestic and international travel for extended periods of time on short notice is required
• English speaking with excellent reading, writing and reporting skills are required
• Professional appearance and attitude
• Ability to problem solve with critical thinking in fast paced environments and short deadlines
• Fiberglass (FRP/GRP) fabrication and repair, related to marine environment considered an asset
• Experience with lifeboats considered an asset
• Understanding of the International Maritime laws and regulations considered an asset
OTHER REQUIREMENTS
• Valid driver’s license
• Valid working status for the USA
• Valid Passport
• No criminal record
• TWIC Card considered an asset
• BOSIET/HUEB Certification considered an asset
JOB DESCRIPTION
• Inspection, service, repair and maintenance of life-saving appliances
• Reporting and documenting of services rendered while in field and otherwise
• Project planning of technical and product requirements
• Pre & Post-job planning with VIKING management and Ships’ personnel
• Frequent domestic and international travel, on vessel or platforms
• Significant work with international clients and teams
• Assist VIKING in industry research & development where necessary
• Assist VIKING liferaft service team when necessary
• Contributing to VIKING safe work practices policy for safe working environments
• Compensation will be numerated based upon experience and qualifications
