Job Purpose

The Assistant Sales Engineer will support the Vigor Industrial Sales, Marketing and Business Development by assisting with the preparation of proposals and RFPs and generally supporting the efforts ensuring achievement of technical and/or business objectives throughout the sales cycle.
Duties

(This is not an all inclusive list of the regular job duties. Other responsibilities within the accepted job scope will apply.)

1. Helps the Sales, Marketing and Business Development Department respond to sales and estimating needs within the constraints of scope, time and cost to agreed levels of quality, within the organization’s governance and Sales and Business Development framework.
2. Actively participates in all or specific parts of the sales cycle as determined by project complexity and/or duration of the cycle. This includes, but is not limited to; completion of prequalification forms, attendance of pre-bids, customer site visits, preparation of ROMs (Rough Order of Magnitude), proposal writing, review of prints and specifications, organization of prints and specifications for Sales and Estimating, preliminary schedule preparation, and updating of in-house CRM (Customer Relationship Management) program.
3. Interfaces with customer(s) to make certain all items are being addressed; relays information, when needed, to sales representatives.
4. Work with Sales, Marketing, and Business Department regarding costs, timescales and resource requirements for the successful completion of each proposal to agreed scope and constraints.
5. Prepares and maintains sales cycle plans and tracks activities as needed; ensures department is aware of key deadlines.
6. Effectively communicates plan to co-workers and/or customers as needed; creates reports or records of processes as part of communication.
7. Monitors costs, timescales and resources used, and takes action where these deviate from agreed tolerances; ensures that deliverables are implemented within these criteria.
8. Back up Sales, Marketing and Business Development staff and Sales Representatives as needed to procure accurate submittals and implement project milestones.
9. Provide administrative and logistical support to sales and business development teams located within various Vigor Industrial locations.
10. Provide support to business development and sales managers in estimating costs, timescales and resource requirements for the successful completion of sales cycle.
