Our client, a leading international company, designs terminals around the world - ranging from small vessel harbours to container terminals and bulk handling terminals capable of exporting 90 million tonnes per annum. We are seeking a highly talented Project Manager / Marine Engineer to join our client’s South African operations.
The successful candidate will have:
· A minimum of 10 years’ experience in the planning and design of marine terminals – with a strong focus on:
-bulk materials handling
-liquid bulk
-containers
-grains & derivatives
-general cargo
-intermodal terminals
-shipyards and dry-docks
· A degree in Civil or Structural Engineering, and is registered or be eligible for registration with professional engineering association(s).
· A Master degree in Maritime Engineering would be an asset.
· Several key marine projects under their belt, namely design of port and bridge structures.
· Experience in construction would also be an asset.
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills in preparing proposals and delivering presentations.
· Excellent English language communication skills
· A proven track record managing multiple projects simultaneously or a single project of major size and scope.
· Being able to meet the challenge of tight deadlines and providing exceptional service to our clients is a must.
· Previous experience mentoring and coaching junior/intermediate level designers would be beneficial.
