Job Description
Bring your talent and skills to Raytheon, providing Naval Architecture and associated engineering during the design and construction of the Air Warfare Destroyer.

The Air Warfare Destroyer (AWD) Program focuses on the timely and efficient delivery of an affordable, effective, flexible and sustainable Air Warfare Destroyer capability for the security of Australia. Using an alliance-based contracting strategy for the design and build phase of the Program, the Commonwealth, along with ASC AWD Shipbuilder and Raytheon Australia, are working together in an integrated team environment to achieve project objectives. Phase 3 of the Program covers the design, development, production, build and test of the AWD and support systems.

In this role, you will ensure that Platform Systems Design and associated products:
• Satisfy requirements and are provided, reviewed, approved and managed for change in a manner that supports AWD program objectives.
• Provide the basis for satisfactory acceptance of the ship through production, test and delivery.
• Fulfill requirements and support the efficient and effective build of the AWDs at the ASC Shipbuilding and Block Constructor facilities.

Specific responsibilities include:
• Assisting in the review of Platform System Designer documents for technical adequacy, contractual adequacy and shipbuilder impact;
• Providing naval architecture and marine engineering evaluations in support of the AWD Alliance.
• Managing assigned areas of Platform System Designer contract for CoA in keeping with Alliance guiding principles.
• Undertaking special projects or activities as agreed with manager.
• Providing status of assigned work and provide advice to management on relevant issues.

Requirements:
• Degree in Naval Architecture (professional recognition by Engineering Institute, such as Engineers Australia, CPEng), however, a mechanical engineering degree supported by extensive production experience in a shipyard will be favorably considered.
• 12+ years experience in naval architecture to include 10+ years of production experience in a naval shipyard.
• Structural analysis and assessment experience.
• Experience with warship design and construction, including intact and damage stability, hydrostatics, seakeeping, maneuverability, hull form development, resistance and propulsion, general arrangement, launching and docking, inclining and weight control.
