OVERVIEW:
Our Marine Consultancy Services team plays a critical role in our organization. They’re the experts who go out to survey clients’ ships, appraise technical information and offer sound technical advice and practical solutions. They work with our clients to ensure they meet the industry standards that we help to set. We have offices all around the world, with some of our key locations in United States. Our global organization offers our surveyors and consultants the opportunity to learn about the latest developments in the marine industry from their colleagues around the world. They are based alongside their local team, promoting knowledge, sharing and enjoying a rewarding team-working culture.
As a Senior Marine Technical Consultant, you’ll be responsible for co-ordinating, managing and achieving completion of each consultancy project. You will also spend time surveying ships in ports and dry docks, undertaking office-based projects, and providing training course direct to clients. In addition to building relationships with local clients and finding solutions to their queries, you will offer them sound technical advice and offer the benefits of Lloyd's Register’s vast wealth of experience and knowledge.
Your key responsibilities will be:
• To deliver selected training courses to internal and external clients
• To work with clients to provide advice and solutions to problems
• To initiate and manage consultancy projects across a range of disciplines
• To undertake consultancy surveys of engineering systems
• To participate in and contribute to specific job training as directed.
What you will need:
• Demonstrable understanding of Client Relationship Management, gained through experience and training
• A solid background in marine engineering
• Minimum 10 years sea-going experience desired
• Bachelor degree in Marine/Mechanical Engineering or equivalent with relevant experience would be preferred
• Understanding and good basic knowledge of marine classification, marine repairs, periodical, statutory, materials and equipment surveys as necessary
• Good written and verbal English
• Be able to work remotely.
