Responsibilities:
• Works independently (with minimal supervision), or on project teams
• Performs quality assurance reviews of complex analyses, calculations and drawings developed by junior and mid-level staff
• Interfaces with client at peer level
• Perform calculations applying electrical engineering principles, techniques, procedures and criteria
• Prepare technical reports or other engineering documentation
• Prepare technical purchase specifications for major electrical equipment
• Develop test procedures to ensure equipment and system performance
• Assist with shipboard automation, control, generation and power distribution systems testing
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent education in Electrical Engineering
• Professional Engineering Certification (in Electrical Engineering or other applicable discipline) and at least 8 years of professional marine engineering experience or 12 years marine shipbuilding experience without certification
• Proficiency in using industry-standard electrical system design and analysis software tools
• Marine electrical shipbuilding experience with power generation, distribution and control systems
• Automation and control systems test experience desirable
